AI drafts your SMR. ClearAML leaves you writing it yourself
When something suspicious happens, AML Simple uses AI to draft your Suspicious Matter Report narrative. You review it and lodge it with AUSTRAC. We could not find any evidence that ClearAML offers AI-assisted SMR drafting. For agencies facing their first SMR obligation, this is the most anxiety-reducing feature in the platform.
Your compliance data stays in Australia. We can prove it
AML Simple stores all data on Supabase infrastructure in the Sydney region (AWS ap-southeast-2). We make this a non-negotiable commitment. ClearAML does not mention data residency or hosting location on their public website. For compliance software handling sensitive client identity data, that silence is a meaningful gap.
Full lifecycle compliance - including the annual report
ClearAML's pricing page and homepage do not mention an Annual Compliance Report Wizard. AML Simple includes one on Starter and above. The first AUSTRAC annual report is due March 2027. Agencies choosing a platform now need one that handles the full compliance lifecycle, not just 1 July.

ClearAML's Solo plan starts at A$49/month +GST for 2 users. AML Simple's Starter is A$79/month for 1 user with unlimited clients. If you have 2 staff and very few clients, ClearAML's entry price is lower. The gap narrows quickly as client volume grows. AML Simple's unlimited-client model on Starter becomes better value above roughly 10-15 active clients.
Staff training included on Solo tier
ClearAML includes full training modules and PDD sign-off on their lowest-paid tier (A$49/mo Solo). AML Simple's training module is available on Starter and above (A$79/mo). If staff training is your primary concern and you want the cheapest possible plan, ClearAML's Solo includes it.
Inter-firm connections and client profile sharing
ClearAML lists inter-firm connections and client profile sharing as a feature. This could be useful for agencies that regularly refer clients across offices or to other firms. AML Simple does not currently offer inter-firm profile sharing.
REST API for technical integrations
ClearAML offers a REST API for integration. AML Simple does not currently expose a public REST API (Agency tier gets CSV/PDF export). If your agency has a technical team and wants to integrate compliance data with your CRM or property management system directly, ClearAML may be a better fit.

No inter-firm client profile sharing.
ClearAML lists inter-firm connections and shared client profiles as a feature. AML Simple does not have this today. If your agency relies on referral networks or multi-firm client sharing, check whether ClearAML's implementation meets your workflow before deciding.
No public REST API.
ClearAML offers a REST API for technical integrations. AML Simple's Agency tier provides CSV and PDF export, but no public API. If you need programmatic access to compliance data, ClearAML may be more suitable for your technical setup.
Higher entry price than ClearAML Solo.
ClearAML's Solo plan is A$49/month +GST vs AML Simple Starter at A$79/month. AML Simple's Foundation tier (always free) gives you a lower starting point than any ClearAML plan. On paid tiers, AML Simple offers unlimited clients on Starter, which changes the per-client economics for agencies above a small client base.
